Education Through Athletics was developed to empower the student-athlete to achieve his/her goals. We understand that both education and athletics are important in a childs everyday life. We strongly encourage the participants in the program to have the highest G. P. A. as possible (According to the new NCAA Div. 1 ruling: The higher the grade point average of the student athlete, the lower your SAT score has to be in order to compete on the collegiate level). Although this program is geared towards the at-risk/disadvantage student-athlete, we ensure that the primary focus is on education and that sports are also important, but a secondary factor. Many student-athletes have the ability to compete on a collegiate level, but most importantly he/she can use this ability to get a FREE COLLEGE EDUCATION via academic/athletic scholarship. E. T. A. understands that no at-risk student athlete should miss out because of financial reasons, so all of the services that we offer are free to all participants. While many organization only offer sports teams, WE ARE MUCH MORE ADVANCED! We have designed a PROGRAM that offers both educational and sports development for our participants.
Education Through Athletics will specifically address the needs of at-risk/disadvantaged student-athletes by offering the following services:
